Down at Matt's in the Market (Seattle) they have on their dessert list "Guinness & Port". Its a pint of Guinness with a float of ruby port on top.

Yes, the flavors work together, rather lovely, IMO.

Another Guinness cocktail I had recently is a "Black Velvet", which is champagne in a flute glass with a shot of Guinness in it. Also lovely :)

;) Although the the deal wit champagne sounds a bit repulsive , I like the idea of a dry stout and porter. they are after all drinks that have a lineage of being chums in mixings for some time. so if your into mixing beers I would say this one meets al creditability standards. Also provingthe versatility of a great like Guiness.

Regardless of what one might think, this is actually a genuine cocktail with a long history. It's not something that's just been dreamt up by a barman just recently - as is the case with so many of the cocktails we are now seeing.
