just bottled

i just finished cleaning up after bottling a Bass Ale styled ale. the O.G. was not taken, but i'd guess given the 6 lbs of malt used and the 1/2 lbs of grain steeped it should have been 1.050-1.055

the F.G. came out to a depressing 1.019 - not as much as i thought it would drop to, but still a decent number considering the recipe stated it should be 1.013. the color is not as dark since i did not use the brown sugar the recipe called for.

anyway, in a few weeks i will give a report on the "final" product.

Your higher FG could also be from the lack of brown sugar addition.

The brown sugar also contains a lot of fermentables that would lower the FG.
