Belgian Double Extract.

Anyone Had any luck with extract belgian double's or triple's? With winter coming I'd really like to make one without paying Williams $35 for the kit. Go Bears.

A tripel should be easy to do as an extract. Something like this for a 5gal batch:

7 lbs light DME
1.75 lbs table sugar

bittering hops to about 30 IBU
.5 oz or less flavouring hops
.5 oz or less aroma hops

Pick your favourite Belgian yeast and go nuts.

My buddy who got me into homebrewing brewed a fabulous Belgian extract. I believe he bought it at austin homebrew and probably paid more than you'd like to. It honestly was a great brew. Oh yeah, GO BEARS.
