Howdy All...
Has anyone out there seen/tried any of the BBC beers from Louisville, KY.?
They've won several awards in the last 5 years; incredible that I didn't even know they existed until last year( I live in the mountains about 2 hours from Louisville)
Their American Pale Ale will surely please the Hop-Head(my favorite) and their Altbier is really special too...
Enjoy

P.S. Brown non-twist bottles perfect for homebrew!!

Tube...is Kentucky Ale brewed by BBC?? If it is, then that's the only one of their beers that I have tried. It's OK and will do in a pinch, but I've had lots better.

Where is this Liquor Barn in Lexington that you speak of? I live in northern KY just south of Cincinnati, but once or twice a year I go to Richmond for training. As I'm sure you know, Richmond has an absolutely atrocious selection of malt beverages, and I would love to take a small trip to Lexington, if you think it be worth my while, while I'm in Richmond as an excuse to get rid of some of my "spending money".

In case you're not aware, and close enough, there is a store in Bellevue, KY on KY 8 that I go to all the time---it has a great selection of micro and foreign beers. If you're looking for something different for shits & giggles, you may want to venture up north. It's called the Party Source.

Cheers!

Howdy Ray-
Kentucky Ale isn't made by BBC; I think it's been through a couple of owners in the last few years. I kinda thought it was mediocre at best. There are two Liguor Barns in Lex.; The one you want is on Harrodsburg road just outside New Circle road. It has a decent selection of Homebrew ingredients and supplies including the more popular Wyeast tubes.
The other is on Richmond Road Between New Circle road and Man O' War Blvd. Enjoy!

Ray-
I notice that you said you lived just south of Cinci.; Also that you post in homebrewing. If you haven't been there yet, you need to see Listermann's.
www.listermann.com for catalog and location. Fresh yeast, huge selection of grains and extracts, and GREAT prices.
They even have FREE shipping east of the Mississippi for orders over $35 (If I order Monday AM, UPS brings my order Tuesday afternoon Here in Wolfe Co. Red River Gorge area!!!) The web site ain't much, but the store is cool.
Enjoy!

Yes, indeed!! Listermann's is the official supplier of the Ray M Brewing Co.!! I have gone to Listermann's exclusively ever since I started to brew---it's only a 12 minute drive from my house. I have recommended them several times to our fellow brewing brethren. Thanks, though!!
