Today (Oct 5th) is the celebration of Alexander Keiths 211 birthday!

What will you be doing to honour a gentelman, a Canadian icon and one of our first brewers?

Raise a toast lads, to Alexander Keith!

Alexander Keith started a brewery in Halifax Nova Scotia around 200 years ago. He was known as 'the most hospitible man in Halifax' because of the parties he always through and he even had a tunnel from his home that went to a private pub in his brewery for the use of himself and his friends.

He also became the Mayor of Halifax. His brewery still brews Alexander Keiths IPA "Those who like it, like it a lot!"

p.s. - his celebration of his birthday is starting to take on the atmosphere of a "Robby Burns" day or to a lesser extent "St. Patricks Day" in Canada with many pubs hosting special nights.
