Looking for a different place to try some beer, check this place out. I loved it.

Farmhand Ale is a favorite. Too bad the Attleboro branch of Yankee Spirits has trouble keeping a supply on hand. Definitely check out their Ofest event. No admission - just pay as you go to eat, drink, play, pick pumpkins, pet animals, etc.

The Pioneer growler prices are a bit steep, but shouldn't deter anyone after getting a taste.

I dig farm breweries - Hyland, Buzzards Bay, Nashoba, etc. Drinking beer in the rural countryside is a great way to spend a day.

Cheers!

I've been to Hyland a couple of times. I totally agree with newportstorm -- the Farmhand is awesome. The rest of the lineup is solid, too. The Pioneer Doublebock was excellent as well. Very laid back place.

Hmmm, sounds like I need a little excursion...

I didn't like the Farmhand Ale so much but I'm not big on light beers. That Amber Ale is something else though, I could drown myself in that and die happy :D

Farmhand is based on a Kolsch recipe. Some people tasted it this spring/summer and were unhappy. Word was that demand for Hyland/Pioneer beer has increased which may have led to some quick(er) batches of Farmhand, resulting in some off flavors. When it's "on", it's an unbeatable session beer/thirst quencher.

I was just there yesterday for their Oktoberfest event. Enjoyed pints of their Oktoberfest (lagered "long and hard" according to one Hyland fan), Organic IPA (solid English IPA) and American Pale Ale. Snagged a growler of Ofest (pricey at $15) and a bomber of Stout to go. Took a tractor ride with my wife and son, picked a pumpkin, ate some brats, listened to a good band. Overall, a great day!

Cheers!

Yeah, Cheryl and I had a great day there as well, when we visited the place in May this year. We would both be members of their Stein Club if we wouldn't live 5000 miles away.
