Has anyone been to an Iron Hill lately? Their beers have been really bad all through the summer, espically the weiss. Today I just tried the fall Altbier, and it was awful.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on this one. My favorite, their Ironbound Ale has taken a dump the last few batches. Also, their Weiss tasted like dishwater when I had it earlier this year.

Yikes! I've always enjoyed the Iron Hill in West Chester. Some mighty nice brews.

I was recently at both the West Chester and North Wales locations. North Wales was ok, but WC was excellent. The Flemish Red and Pilsner were both great.
They're all independent brewers and only the staples are the same recipe, I think.
Which IH was this? As was said, brewery operations are completely separate (although I think they will occasionally ship one-off or GABF-winning kegs to the other locations). I worked at the original Newark location for a few years (starting shortly after it opened), but haven't been to any of the branches in 4 or 5 years now.

Can you buy any of their brews in bottle form? I really hope they didn't screw up the rasberry wheat beer. Damn that was a good brew..

They just started selling some of their beers in 750's at the brewpubs only. Pretty pricey, too. But I guess they're being hand done so it's pretty labor intensive, and they were all high gravity beers.

I have had nothing but good (or great) experiences in my recent Iron Hill endeavors. Best of luck to them on the upcoming P'ville location!
In fact, the GABF judges gave them two medals over the weekend... including a gold for thier Imp Stout!!

Their Imperial Stout last year was awesome. I hope this year is just as good.
