I racked my latest batch of wheat ale to secondary (glass carboy) about a week ago and fermentation has slowed down considerably. What is alarming, however, is a slight layer of what I can only describe as "thin oily film" floating on top of the beer. (Kind of twists the light like an oil slick on asphalt). If you bump/move the carboy it kind of dissapates but reforms in a few hours.

I didn't use a lot of hops in this one, nor did I dry hop, but I did use 2 containers of peach extract when I racked to secondary. Could this be fruit oils? Or does this sound like a sign of infection?

If it were an infection I don't think it would "slick" on you like that. Sounds more like an oil from the extract as it goes back into solution and then reappears.

Taste it, and let us know.
