I racked my latest batch of wheat ale to secondary (glass carboy) about a week ago and fermentation has slowed down considerably. What is alarming, however, is a slight layer of what I can only describe as "thin oily film" floating on top of the beer. (Kind of twists the light like an oil slick on asphalt). If you bump/move the carboy it kind of dissapates but reforms in a few hours.
I didn't use a lot of hops in this one, nor did I dry hop, but I did use 2 containers of peach extract when I racked to secondary. Could this be fruit oils? Or does this sound like a sign of infection?
