Heading down to VA Beach this coming weekend for a few days with some friends and am trying to find a good (read: the best) beer store stop along the way. I'm departing from from Southern Maryland, so it looks like my trip will involve a good bit along 301 and 95.
Was told that Bon Vivant Market in Smithfield (http://www.bonvivantmarket.com/id33.html) was incredible, though it looks like it may be taking me slightly out of the way. Any better suggestions?

Well dont know about beer stores in the area but if you are going through Richmond to get there try to get over to Legend Brewery. Its well worth the stop. Also Capital Ale House is worth a drive down into southern Virginia as well.

Oooh, Capital! Well, I'm going to have to stop off for lunch somewhere; might as well make it a worthwhile stop! Good call, Insidious; never occured to me to seek out brewpubs and the like. I'm almost as excited about the trip down as I am about the beach!

I thought all Virginians were from Vestal and did not drink beer.

A Virginian does not drink, slurp, swill, slosh, pound, guzzle or any of those barbaric practices. We imbibe. ;)

Lordkenpo, Look for the St. George's beers down that way. They are very good.
