A nice beer list in Rappahannock Co VA

wade through the nice & long wine list to get to the beers. Looks like draft is limited but the bottles--well, you could do worse if you were in the neighborhood, say, checking out the fall colors in a month or two....

Wow, Troegs Mad Elf - that is a good list.

Some of the California reds are great selections too, although a little pricey

The Beychevelle and Baronne-Philippe both stand out as being overpriced as I remember only paying anout 1/3 that when I was drinking wine. The Leoville-Poyferre is overpriced but not nearly as the other two in my opinion.

As far as the beer is concerned they need some Sprecher Dark Lager (Schwartzbier) to round out their selection.

Not much farther south you'll find the Capital Ale House (http://www.capitalalehouse.com/)

My new favorite. 77 taps (ain't none of them BMC), 2 engines, and about 300 bottle selections. The beer list is about 16 pages long (legal size, front and back). Knowledgeable staff and great food. I need to post a full-up review real soon!

Wow, that is a great list, may have to find my way down there some weekend.

The Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg always had a great list, haven't eaten there in awhile, but always had some great beers to try.

Tuskies has great beer and great food. I've had FFF beers there on draft. Which we do not often see in these parts. Their sister place is called Magnolia's in the Mill out in Purcellville. I've not been there yet.

I didn't know that they had a sister place. Looks good.

Also looks like they are having a special Octoberfest Dinner on Oct 12. May have to look into it.
