This is the second year of my hop garden. I planted 2 each of Nugget, Cascade, and E Kent Golding. I live in the Chicago area. My Nugget variety by far has done the best but this is likely because of the exposure to sunlight in the area where they are planted.

Regardless, I had a 12 gallon plastic storage bin like you can buy at home depot. I filled it half way with only Nugget hops. Some were really large cones, some not. Anyway, now on to drying and hopefully a batch will be brewed this weekend.

The hop gods are good!

Keep in mind that you'll need 3 to 5 times the amount you'd normally use of commercial hops. Even more if you normally use pellets and not cones.

As always, don't forget to let us know how the new brew goes! :D

You only need more if they aren't dried first. You're using the same amount of hops, just adjusting for the weight of the moisture still in the hop
