120 Minute from DogFish Head

Just got the call from my buddy, he was able to snag me a 12 pack of the 120 minute and likewise of the 90. Recently had the 90 through a swap and it was freaking great. That is what brewing (to me at least) is about.

Cannot wait for the 120 to get here, should be here by end of the next week. Just in time for a temp change here. Can see it now, sitting on my bck deck with some cool tunes, the chimenea and some kick ass beer.

Life is just to sweet sometimes.

Is this form the original batch, or did they brew it again.

I h ave the 120 but haven't drank it yet. Do you think they really can ferment to reach an alcohol content that high? Or is it fortified? I agree, the 90 was great.

I just got the package and am now sipping on a 120 Minute.

I am impressed, I expected a lot of fusel alcohol and some esters and they are not there. Viscous and sweet but has the alcohol warmth, I like this.

No this is not fortified, that would be illegal under ATF regulations.

They have yeast strains that will tolerate up to 25% alcohol and then there is also distillers yeast that will go a little more then that.

The 120 in the 12oz bottles is nothing like the 90 or even 60 minute brews.
The best way IMO to experience the true 120 is in the 750 ml bottle. The 120 was bottle fermented and the true flavors really came out. the 12's were not bottle fermented. THe difference is noticable.
