A great, pure American legend has left us for a better life. I will be honoring him this evening with more than a couple of cold ones. Not sure what to go for, but I'm thinking of alternating betwee Wild Turkey and Arrogant Bastard. When your alarm clock blares this out and it's the first words you hear in the morning, the whole day can only go downhill from there.

In honor of the Man in Black I put Folsom Prison Blues on the CD player and cracked open a bottle of Tennessee's finest Jack Daniel's.

This is an especially emotional day for me...it was ten years ago today I lost my father to cancer; and he was a big Johnny Cash fan.
I have been indulging in some Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest, New Glarus Hop Hearty, Three Floyds Alph King, and perhaps some whiskey before I'm done.
Tomorrow I will be going to a surprise 40'th B-day party for my cousin, who is not only my dad's godson, but his dad and mine were twins...I think the Harley stays in the garage tomorrow... :D
We will not grieve, however, we will celebrate life with many liters of Oktoberfest.

I sat in the ballpark in Frisco last night, listening to them play a string of Cash hits over the PA system, and drank just about one of everything. (The nice thing about this ballpark is they do serve a variety of beers other than the yellow fizz swill stuff. Not a great selection, but they do have Shiner Bock, Guinness Stout, Fat Tire, Amstel Light, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to name a few!) The Riders lost, Johnny Cash is gone, there was a steady drizzle most of the night...seems everyone and everything was mourning the passing of a legend.

Now I am sitting here reading these posts with the Johnny Cash box set in the cd player!
