You know, if the perfume industry would market a hop scented perfume (using only the freshest hops of course), I think that girlfriends and wives would be very appreciative of the effect. LOL! :D

Until they find out you've emptied their perfume into your batch of homebrew...:D

A friend of mine and I toyed around with the idea of bottled hop flavored water. Now I think maybe a line of hop flavored teas.

Good idea about teas. Though it's already been done, many places that serve 'hop tea' have no idea what types of hops are in their products and how different hops affect flavors. A beer lover or an experienced homebrewer that understands hops might be able to make a better go of it. I think you'd have a very limited market but good luck carving out a niche.
Cheers!

Believe it or not I got a small bottle of hop cologne once at The Blue Bonnet Brew off in Dallas. The rep from HopUnion was giving them out. My wife kind of liked it.........

One of my hop suppliers has a line of hop teas. I haven't tried any but I've heard good things. Seeing as how they're a grower and supplier, I'm thinking they probably know what they're doing and are probably doing it well. They also have pickled hop shoots, and they are delicious! www.hopsdirect.com.

I have some hop cologne that I got from Hop Union. They usually have it at the trade shows asa giveaway, as well as I have been able to get some from them after I place a big order.

We got 3 hop vines going in the back yard now - they're going right off at the moment too!
I was gunna just use em 4 brewing but now you blokes have given me a whole new idea......yeah.......maybe if I make up some perfume with em it will help appease the still angry missus (I chopped down a big tree to plant the hops)...:p
BTW - I'm new here so G'day!!!

Welcome Bendigo! I think you should brew with them, though!

Bengido-
Read up on Russian River Brewing and what he is doing with "wet" hops in his brews. Several others use them as well fresh from the vines.

I think they should make a hop gum. I would chew that.

Vinnie's Hop Time Harvest Ale is amazing. Sierra Nevada also makes a "wet" hopped beer called Harvest Ale. Also a stellar beer.
