I have to go to Rochester for the rest of the week - anyone have any "must see" locations up there for good brew?

Here's one list:

BA Beerfly (http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/list?c_id=&s_id=NY&sort=rating&search=&zip=&city=rochester&name=&bfcg=&)

Heard good things about Dinosaur BBQ.

Cheers!

I did some research on this subject while I took my boys to Clark's Ale House(syr) for lunch today. The bartenders there have been to these places and say they will fit the bill quite nicely.

Old Toad
Monty's Crown
Monty's Korner
Richmonds

If you want good bar-b-que try the Dinosaur. They will have at least one good beer on as well.

For retail try Beers of the World or Southtown Beverage. Be careful at Beers. If you see a beer at a great price, it may be a little dated. Unless you see a Belgian, he sells those sometimes at really great prices.

When are you going to be there and why if I may ask? If the timing works out, I would consider the drive to share a beer or two.

I'm actually going to be in Greece, Tuesday afternoon through Friday afternoon. My company is opening a new location there; the Tech Trainer assigned to that territory is currently on another project, so I'm covering for him. I don't know what I'll have for free time - I'm usually teaching classes all day followed by dinner meetings. I was originally planning to drive, but ended up flying so that cramps my schedule quite a bit.

If I only have time for one, the Old Toad http://www.theoldtoad.com/ looks like the one at the top of the list!

Sorry that your time is so tight. I would gadly have met you at The Old Toad. You are right though as most likely schedules would conflict. I hope that you have an easy visit and can find time for a good beer.

I absolutely have to recommend Rohrbach Brewing.

this place was fabulous. It was about two years ago that I was there, but the beer was excellent, and the lunch food was just as enjoyable. The brewer was very cordial and gave me an impromptu tour of the brew house. I would definitely go back again if in the area.
