The ratebeer.com website is down again, and has been for the past 2 days.
Anyone on this forum know the story?

I'm not privy to why ratebeer is down, but have you ever visited beeradvocate.com?? That's where I personally have gone to search for beer reviews. Lots of good info & TONS of obscure beers have been reviewed. Check it out!

Yea, I noticed. Personally it doesn't really bother me much. I hang out on beeradvocate.com 95% and 05% on the Burgundian Babble Belt. The BA brothers seem to have their act together. They are pationate about their site (being self run, no ads), have the best reviews (beer and beer establishments), and the knowledge of beer on the site is unbelievable (brothers, and contributers).
I hope Rate Beer gets there site up soon though, the more good beer sites up and running the better for all of us.

I have registered on BeerAdvocate.com, but only after I had over 50 reviews on RateBeer. If the site goes up again, I will more seriously consider "mirroring" my RateBeer reviews on BA (if I download my profile page in Adobe Acrobat, it should pull all of my reviews at once so I can copy the text).
I have found myself preferring RateBeer mainly because it had several thousand more beers listed, and becase BA's interface is rather cluttered, especially with those popup Java niblets on every other word. However, the fact that they don't go down every other week is turning in their favor. And as you said, the more beer sites, the merrier!

And I have run into the brothers at many festivals doing their jobs. That is a great site!
