I find myself this morning watching these amazing kids, standing on the site of ground zero and reading the names of all those who died that day. Every single one of those kids lost someone, some of them lost several family members that day. I cannot help but think that as an adult I could probably not be as brave as these kids appear to be. They are now my hero's.
Each of us took something away from that day, and it is locked up inside us forever. I grew up not far from Manhatten, and I lost some friends that day. I have also lost some friends along the way in the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. I cherish the memories of them and they will forever live in my heart and mind. I pray they have found peace.
I find myself feeling as angry if not more so then that fateful day. The feeling of being powerless to do anything about this, but to remember to remain vigilant and never allow this to happen again. I am sure many of you feel something inside. Never let it burn out, that is all we have left.
Let's Roll!
