For those in the VA/DC/MD area, you may already be familiar with the Old Brogue out in Great Falls, VA. A good solid Irish bar with a genuine small town pub atmosphere and some very good food and drink selections. The beer menu used to be pretty much Irish Bar standard with all the usuals and maybe one or two others. I hadnt been there in ages and just went back this weekend and found to my delight that they had several beers on tap they hadnt before. They have a Clipper City Red Tide, a Stoudts Saison, a nice Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier, a DFH 60 minute, a Speckled Hen all on tap among the other 12 or so of the “standard” Irish/English pub line up. They also have a house ale on tap that they said was Old Dominions standard ale but tastes WAY too hoppy to be that. Maybe its some other Old Dominion creation? It almost tasted like a Hop Devil.
Anyway it was a good place to have a bite and a few brews and watch the tail end of the PGA championship. So stop in when yer in the area.
