ABV guidlines and scoring at contest

Hi Guys,

I would like to submit my English Brown Ale-11a Mild to the Foam Cup next month. But I make it at about 6% ABV which is higher then the stated guidelines at the bjcp. Do you think this will affect my score a lot?

if the judges you get are any good, you'll definitely lose points for being that far outside the guidelines. going by the numbers, I'd hazard a guess it'd do better as a 12A brown porter. it's still a little big even for that, but it's a lot closer, and the usual top end gravity creep will cut you some slack. just not 20+ points of slack...
