Hi,

I'm going to be visiting Seattle the weekend of 8/5 and would like a good recommendation for a Brewpub or good beer bar in the Seattle area. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!!!!

I fell in love with Elysian while visiting Seattle -- apparently they have multiple locations, but I have only been to their Capitol Hill location.

Isn't RedHook up there too? And before you poo-poo them they offer a BUNCH of stuff at the brewpub that isn't available in bottles. I saw a show that featured their pub once and their own selections were in the double digits.

and this.. http://www.elysianbrewing.com/Recipes.html this is just cool as all hell!! although it's not very clear on the hopping amounts/times

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking Elysian too, or Pike Brewing Co.

And regarding Redhook, I agree, they're not bad. I've visited their New Hampshire location.

I'll post some feedback on wherever I end up drinking :)

Cheers!

Go to Brouwer's.
It's owned by the guys that own Bottleworks (incredible beer store, go there too!).

Beautiful place, 50 taps, lots of Belgians.

I ended up at Pike in Seattle. Pretty good beer, ok food, so-so service, ok atmosphere. It was late when we got in, and I was happy to find a place that was still serving.

I also went to Columbia City on Ranier Ave. and that was ok.
I don't think they brew there but they have some nice local beer on tap.

We tried in vain to find Gordon Biersch in downtown Seattle, but I gave up after 1/2 hr. I had to catch a plane!

Cheers!

Gordon Biersch is in the Pacific Place mall downtown, iirc.

I tried to find it for 1/2 hour but gave up. They need signage or something.

Interesting! I can't remember how I found them, but I don't recall them offering anything you can't get in bottles at Safeway.

It was your typical shopping-mall brewery, full of young professionals talking on cell phones and carrying bags from Banana Republic... so... fear not, beer soldier. You missed little. ;)
