i have a 7.5 gal alum. turkey fryer with no spout and i want to add one i have seen the weldless spouts will these work on an alum pot ?

I don't see why not, although I've never done this myself. You'll want to use heavy pressure, and lower speeds, for your drill, and most likely a 9/16" bit. Smoothing out the cut hole with a circular file, and rinsing away any metal shavings before you brew is probably also a good idea. ;)

Also, you will want to drill the spigot out about an inch up from the bottom of your kettle, so the hop debris and undissolved proteins and/or malt extract don't make their way into your fermenter.

it works fine, i've done it to two aluminum kettles that size... two things to point out, first, you'll need to punch a starting spot or your drill bit will just wander all over the kettle. Second, and more importantly, mark your valve spot while the kettle is sitting on the burner. My first time, I did not do this, and had to cut a notch in the ring so my kettle sat on the burner...
