Hello all,
I'm taking a trip down to Philly and Baltimore in September, and I'm looking for some brew pub recommendations. Thanks in advance to all your help.

Excellent. I ended up in a brew pub there a few years ago because of a surprise thunder storm. I didn't even know it was a brew pub until I went it. I wish I could remember the name -- they had a vanilla, I think, ale.

I'd guess the Wharf Rat as it seems like something they'd do. Wharf Rat is generally English/British oriented, Brewers Art mostly Belgian in focus. I've not been to Duclaw though my wife has and she puts it squarely in the American Brewpub category (this is the one in Bel Air). You can easily make a nice pub crawl for some of these. If you're willing to take a cab I'd suggest:
Wharf Rat (Fells Point) to
Max's on Broadway to
Duclaw (Fells Point) to
dinner at John Stevens (several nice taps) cab to
Wharf Rat (Camden) to
Brewer's Art
Or you could reverse it. I generally recommend ending at BA as some of their beers pack a wallop and starting the night there sometimes means ending the night there (they don't open till 5pm IIRC).

Great idea. I'll be in Baltimore for three nights, although one night of drinking will be interrupted by an Orioles game.

The Wharf Rat on Pratt is basically across the street from Camden Yards so you'll be able to fit in a pint or two even on game day.
K, I'd agree with your wife about DuClaw Bel Air. I've popped in a number of times over the years.

just got back from a weekend trip to Philly. I definitely recommend stopping by Nodding Head Brewing. They had their Berliner Weisse on tap, which was phenomenal -- one of the only brewpubs that makes this style. Definitely try it without the syrup if you like sour beers. They also had a light lager called Monkey Knife Fight, which was flavored with lemon grass and ginger -- very unique and thirst quenching. Plus their BPA is always a hoppy treat.
And you if you love belgian beers, Monks Cafe and Eulogy are always great.

The Berlinner Weisse sounds great. I'd like to see more places attempt making one in the Summer.
