I posted this in my "Grain Bed" Post, not sure it was going to get enough attention.

A little update on my Fermentation. I have a question...the fermentation has slowed to 1 bubble every 20 seconds and there is no more kruesen. But at the bottom what is the stuff that appears to be whiteish or sugar like? Its interlaced with the hops, etc. Like I said this is my first brew in years but not sure if I remember the sugary looking substance. Me and my bud both thought right away maybe it was settled yeast.

Sugary white stuff in the mail is likely anthrax.
Sugary white stuff at the bottom of the fermenter is okay.

Tired yeast, protein chains, puppy dog tails, etc.

Nothing to worry about.

Measure the gravity and taste the hydro sample and put your mind at ease.

It's spent yeast cells that floculate (settle) to the bottom. The yeast you add massively multiplies as you can see, what starts out as a couple of grams of dried yeast turns into cups of yeast.

RDWAHAH, it's all good!
