What beers go good with what foods - gourmet or junk?
Turoni's Pizza and Brewery makes a Honey Blonde Ale that goes well with their jalapeno poppers. I'm not a fan of either, but together, it is surprisingly tasty.
And of course, Negra Modelo with any Mexican.
Everyone know the beer and pizza connection, but what about specifics? I'm not gonna crack open a Stone Imperial Stout with a greek spinach and feta slice.

one of the best food-beer combos i've had was my oatmeal stout (very roasty-toasty w/ coffee aromas) with a peppercorn crusted pork roast. i've mentioned this before on here- its inspired to me to one day brew a peppercorn stout!

Everyone's palate is different, so all the responses here are just guidelines, IMO. But I do enjoy:
-Rauchbier with smoked sausage subs with sauteed onions (or any smoky southern BBQ)
-Try Weyerbacher Raspberry Imperial Stout (or similar beer), well chilled but not frozen, and pour over some good vanilla ice cream (or whatever your favorite flavor is). If you buy a 22 oz. bomber, you can enjoy a glass along with dessert.
-Brie cheese and a crusty loaf of bread with Allagash Dubbel Reserve.
Again, the possibilities are endless. Experiment. It's the only way to find that "perfect match". Cheers!

I like SN Pale Ale with pizza. Just tried Fuller's ESB with a turkey and melted brie sandwich the other week. Brie & Fuller's; what a combo!

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout makes a great dessert on it's own after a great meal. I also like it as the base for an stout float. I like a good IPA with keilbasa, mustard(hot), and sharp cheese. Pale Ale with good quality hot dpgs or burgers with the afore mentioned mustard. Beer with beer. Porter with steak or roasts.
But most important is BEER CAN BE FOOD BUT FOOD CAN NEVER BE BEER.

Any good IPA (Victory Hop Devil and Buckeye Hippie IPA come to mind) with spicy cajun foods - especially dirty rice or etouffe...

When I tasted the Katy Trail Pale Ale up at Columbia's Flat Branch Brew Pub, I REALLY wanted chips and curry like Penny Lane in San Marcos used to make. Hmm, maybe I'll bring home some katy trail next time I go north and make up some chips and curry. Field Trip!
But then again, my husband made Scotch eggs last night and that's awfully good with a Guinness or Beamish Stout.

May sound strange, but lately, I've been drinking a lot of stout, and eating rice crispy treats. No clue why, but it seems to go well.

I just thought of Pilsner Urquell with hot wings - hot, not bbq. I'm not sure why it works, but I think that's getting ready to be lunch.

Okay, those wings made me think of Pierogies. I saute potato/cheese Pierogies in butter as usual, then into the hot pan I pour my home made buffalo sauce (standing back so as not to die by the fumes). This is good with a pale ale.

That sounded good. Made some Pierogies the other night (sauerkraut and wild mushroom), caramelized onions, Chipotle Tabasco and sour cream on the side, was great with a Sierra Nevada Pale....might have it again tonight......

Check out all the books by Garrett Oliver.
There is also info on the web about him and allot of his recipes. He is good.
Plus there is a food and beer section on Beeradvocate.com that is really good too.

Pyramid's IPA is great with anything spicy, whether it be Cajun or Mexican. To me, though, an ideal pairing is a dry stout with steak. I really like Murphy's Irish in this pairing...but that is me.
