Can anyone PLEASE help me find some Polish Tyskie beer here in the USA?
My dad is in Poland right now drinking some Tyskie beer in Poznans (his birthplace) old city square. It is the first time hes been back to Poland since the end of the Great War (WWII). He is enjoying all the beers there! He said he liked Tyskie and I know people here in the states sell it, but I cant find it anywhere in Southern California. If anyone can help me track some of this Polish beer so I can stock my parents fridge when they get back, it would be GREATLY appreciated! I did find one place online selling it, but it as $3 a bottle :|
Thanks a lot for any help! Dave

go over to beeradvocate and hit thier beerfly directory, find the better beer stores in your area and start makin some phone calls. i once waited so long to pick up some old gaurdian that by the time i went to buy everyone was out! so i pulled up the stone distibution list and called every store in my area until i found someone with 5 bottles left ! i guess it depends on how motivated you are? i couldn't imagine getting through those cold winter nights with out my OG!

After some research I uncovered Tyskie beer is mostly distributed around the east coast in a few polish communities right now and Chicago being one of the easiest places to get it according to the USA distributor. He also said it should be available here on the west coast sometime in late fall '06.
Also, Tyskie beer is now made by Miller beer in Poland under the name SAB Miller.

Okay, based only on Shirtees'/Dave's enthusiasm (don't anyone go Untouchables on me), I've been looking for Tyskie lately and found some single, .5L bottles - and it's not a bad Helles-style! Hoppy nose, malty flavor with an ever, ever-so slight diacetyl character (could have been an old bottle). I can only imagine how it tasted fresh to Dave's Dad.

I picked up three 6-packs from somebody who works for Miller.
It was pretty good. Especially for a Miller product.

Well, you can't really call it a "Miller" product - owned by the big conglomo that also owns Miller doesn't mean the Miller Brewery is making the stuff. SAB Miller also owns Pilsner Urquell and I'd never say Urquell is "made" by the macro swiller, at least not yet.

Tyskie is awfull! You taste beer from brewery Boss (www.browar-witnica.pl ) and Brewery Lomza. Beers from breweries, are possible to buy in U.S.A.
