At the Great British Beer Festival last month, in the bottled-conditioned beers category, Fuller's 1845 was beaten into second position (silver) by O'Hanlon's Original Port Stout which gained the gold award. Bronze was won by RCH Old Slug Porter.

Well I can vouch for the excellence of the Fuller's 1845. A fine way to end a session of the GBBF. Thanks again Richard for enjoying that wonderful brew and several others that day at the Fest. I found a bottle of the Ceylon Lion Stout in my fridge at home that I had forgotton that I had purchased some time ago to try. I enjoyed it greatly. It was another of your fine recommendations. I did not try the O'hanlon's but it must be a very good beer to beat the Fullers.
