Sorry I missed this!

The very first flight of beer I ever judged during a competition was with Fred and I learned more sitting at that table that evening then I had in the previous year.

I had the good pleasure of meeting Fred (through my old friend Dave Norton) at one of the past Real Ale Fests in Chicago. Fred is, indeed, a great beer-resource and just plain fun to talk the subject with.
