Does anyone know of any Czech pubs in Milwaukee or will there be any specific place that the Czech community will meet to watch the Czech World Cup games?

Not sure. My local won't cash Czechs.

There are no specifically Czech pubs there, that I have ever heard about. Restaurants with a generic German theme, sure. Maybe in Chicago. I don't think Milwaukee has any "Czech community", unfortunately.

There is a restaurant/bar right off I-94 in Kenosha called Little Europe at Timber Ridge. The owners are Czech and they have a great menu and good beer on tap. Although the bar side is small, with no big TV, I'd bet the owners are big football fans and may have something special going on for the cup.

I just read about a place today in the Chicago Tribune that you might be interested in, if you get to the Chicago area. It was in an article entitled, "How about a beer with that chocolate souffle?", but I couldn't find it online to post. It mentioned a bar called Klas (anyone heard of it?) at 5734 W. Cermak Rd. in Cicero. Phone: 708-652-0795. Here is what it says about it:

"This place may not have the kind of Belgian selection you find at some other spots, but it does have some lovely Czech beers. In this castle-like multi-room complex, you can eat at the bar, lounge in the beer garden or nosh under stuffed birds in the main dining area. We like the smooth blonde Staropramen lager ($3.50) paired with the sweet and pickled beef dish svickova, the smoked pork butt sandwich or, our favorite comfort food, Czech dumplings dunked in brown gravy."

I have always liked Staropramen. I had it in Czech. and Hungary and it was very fresh. I've seen it on tap in many pubs in London but have not tried it there as I'm usually enjoying something from the hand pull.
