I would like to know if I could use a Soda Syphon I have to carbonate my beer?

Any foreseen problems?

Hmm, a soda syphon, like the ones used for squirting an unsuspecting victim in the grill :D . I would think that if you put your fermented product in the chamber it would carbonate it. Although, unless you can control the amount of CO2 being injected into the canister, you beer may be overly carbonated since i believe soda has much more carbonation than that of beer (especially seltzer). Coca Cola's has a standard of 3.7 volumes of CO2 for their bottled product, which is higher than most beer styles. For example typical ranges of volume of CO2 for an APA would be ~2.2-2.8 volumes of CO2, however beer styles like weizenbocks ~3.7-4.7 volumes of CO2 and dunkelweizens ~3.6-4.5 volumes of CO2.

I have used this site for "cheating" when carbonating my beers to be kegged.

Good luck, if it works, it works....right!

It'll probably work. This looks very similar to the Tap-a-draft system that I use and am very pleased with.
