When sanitizing a keg, should I remove the IN/OUT posts and sanitize inside there, or not?

I do but then this is the time I also re-lube the poppets and O-rings. I'm sure that some keggers here just push sanitizer through and not strip the kegs down each batch.

I take everything apart and clean and sani every piece individually. The one time I didn't my beer was definitely off tasting. I could be a coincidence, but I figure why risk it, it doesn't take that much longer.

What're you using for that? Is there a good lube that I can find "anywhere"? I forgot to order it from my last online run, and my LHBS will give me a little dab now and then but doesn't stock tubes of the "usual" products for sale...

All my kegs get broken down to individual pieces and soaked prior to refilling. The extra time is worth it to prevent all that hard work from going down the tubes.

Some suggested replacements have been Vaseline, and KY Jelly. Vaseline can be used, but it does not have the properties of being tasteless and odorless. KY Jelly is water soluble, and could become dissolved in the beer. It also dries over time, and would not be a good choice.
Since I’ve started kegging, I’ve only used Keg Lube. Generic keg lube is usually one of two things, silicone compound (grease/lubricant), or petrol gel. The differences between silicone compound and petrol gel are the price, and some of the properties. The price of petrol gel is about 6 times less than the price of silicone compound. Petrol gel also can inhibit head retention. It states on the Petrol Gel (http://www.petrolgel.com/about.htm) label that it is U.S.P. Mineral Oil along with other USP ingredients. They even offer a free sample on the site.
Good luck,
