A local sports radio station here in So Cal (Fred Roggin on 1540AM The Ticket) dedicated the show today to talking about what the callers thought were the best and worst beers. To sum it up, Newcastle and Heinekin got the most votes for best, that I heard. Anchor steam got one, SN PA got one, Techate, Corona and Redhook also got votes. Even though some of the better microbrews were actually listed as bests, you could tell these people didnt know much about any other types of beer.

As for worst, Keystone, Budweiser (many times), Coors (many times), Mickey's malt liquor, and some others. Mostly what was mentioned were microbrews.

A couple of weeks ago a station in Detroit (WDFN 1130) did a segment where callers phoned in and described the things that bug them the most about their favorite bars. And....a couple of them were complaining about "too many of those crappy microbrews" on hand. Funny stuff.

I have had Heinekin that was kinda funky tasting and I always thought that was how it tasted until recently I got a taste of some recently delivered stock. It was surprsingly easy to drink with a slightly weak but acceptable flavor. A lot of other people have mentioned they don't like it, but I wonder if they were drinking the non-funkified version.

Well, what can ya say. Some people don't really like beer, they just like to pee a lot.
