The worst thing about homebrewing is that I have a cold and I can't taste any of my homebrew. I haven't had any beer for 3 days now - stupid cold.

Preaching to choir there amigo - Austin is widely regarded as the "Allergy Capital of the USA". The cedar is so bad in the winter that it's actually called having "Cedar Fever". I can definitely commiserate.

One of the few times of the year when the allergans aren't so bad is during the summer when it's so F**king hot that nothing is growing - well except for the molds.

In general it's bad enough that in a few years I'm gonna move somewhere else.

I am deeply grieved by your situation. Yet, look not at this as a time of deprivation but as a time to reflect on how wonderful that next beer will taste and enjoyed. May your health improve quickly and your yeast ferment fully.

This is when it helps to keep a strong barleywine on tap, so you can wipe out those germs with high alcohol content beer. ;)

Ah, an excellent time for scotch! Or you could have one of those hot frufru drinks. Man how can you get a cold, it's 103 outside! Wait, I guess it did drop to 85 last week, didn't it?

:)

Toney.

Yeah, right - you'd think no way. My wife caught it and I didn't have the good sense to keep my lips off of her.

Feeling better today. I think by Friday I'll be back to my old 5-7 pints self.

i have a theory about alcohol curing colds.. alcohol will kill germs/bacteria/etc, so if you raise your blood-alcohol level high enough, it'll wipe out all the sick thats in you!!

disclaimer: i'm not a doctor. do not try this at home. those who have tried this are specially trained professional (drinking) stunt men. any thing you say can and will be used against you in the court of law.
