Ok so i got my kegerator all setup, 2nd keg in there now. I was goiing to buy a drip tray for the front of the fridge and noticed that some come wth drains and other need to be manually drained. So my question is why have a drain on it when you dont want it to leak in the first place? I know Im missing some thing here.. :)

the drain is for more built in type setups and you can have the spilled beer just go down the draiin. I'm a bigger fan of not wasting as much in the drip tray but that is subject to change

i think it just depends on how much you are going to use it. for daily (or less) personal use my cheapo plastic drip dray with no drain suits me fine. I've been known to stand and hold my beer under the faucet to catch a drip or 4. :D

if you were partying and pouring and dumping foam then a drip tray with a drain and some sort of receptacle might be in order.

But the kind without a drain is much easier to take off the kegerator and clean in the sink. I have one with a drain that I don't use anymore. It worked fine on the back porch but when I moved it into the garage there was no place to drain it except into a bucket, and pretty soon it looked and probably smelled like Hark's oatmeal stout.
