I would really like to here some input.
What are your favourite BIG Brewery Beers?
What would it be?
I am going with 5, that are in no specific order...
(i) Sleeman Cream Ale. (Canada)
(ii) Coors Orignal. (U.S.A)
(iii) Rolling Rock Extra Pale. (U.S.A)
(iv) Carling Lager (U.K.)
(v) Grolsch (Holland)
There is alot of mention about unique, small breweries... I am qurious about big brewery beers people like. The stuff you started on, and ocassional come back too.
Sam Adams and Redhook (if they qualify). I used to have a soft spot for Molson Canadian, but apparently it went away because I bought a case last summer and it was horrid.

I think Sierra Nevada and Anchor should be considered big breweries now, so I'll go with them. I still bring home SN Pale, Stout, and Porter from time to time, and Anchor's Liberty Ale is serviceable. I think their porter is quite nice. Sam Adams will do if it's the only thing on the menu.
I only drink Miller High Life when I'm at my dad's house, since that's all he drinks:rolleyes: .

None. I'll drink a Guinness if there's nothing better available, but otherwise...

good point on SN and Guinness.
I'm not sure I can lump Anchor in there (at least personally) as they don't seem to have much presence here locally. but maybe that's different west of the mighty mississippi.

-JW Dundee's Pale Ale (Amber Lager, Festive Ale and Pale Bock are solid, too)
-Miller High Life
-Narragansett (brewed at High Falls, like Dundee's)
-Steinlager (brewed at High Falls, see a trend?)
-Stroh's
Cheers!

I never considered Anchor (or SN) "big breweries" in the context of this thread. If Anchor is "big" then so are Full Sail, Harpoon, Deschutes, Boulevard, New Belgium and many others.
Cheers!

Really? I didn't know Full Sail et al were nationwide now; and I just assumed SN and Anchor were. Maybe I overstepped the boundaries a bit. I know that SN and Anchor are available back home in Mississippi (and the others you mentioned are not), and if things are available in MS, they're usually available pretty much everywhere.

Nationwide availability? Dunno. But annual production numbers (barrels) are on par with or greater than Anchor for all the breweries I listed. Sierra Nevada (Pale Ale as least) seems more omnipresent than any Anchor product. I know Anchor is "available" in all 50 states, but sometimes finding a fresh bottle can be a chore.
Cheers!

Didn't think about it in terms of overall production. You've a good point.
