I work in an environment where Povidone-Iodine solution is used. The active ingredient is 10% Povidone-iodine. Is this solution the same as the commercial iodine solutions sold for home-brewing sanitation?
-Thanks

When I use iodiophor, I use 1 tablespoon to 5 gallons of water to sanitize. Ten minutes in that solution sanitizes to hospital standards. That said, I have no idea if that translates to 10% or not.

A quick search shows that this is a first aid anitseptic. and on that basis, I would not use it to sanitize.

NOT THE SAME!!!!
Iodine used for sanitation is a solution of potassium iodide and elemental iodine. Iodine antiseptics contain providone which is not food safe.
