I've been saving myself all week to try a bunch of new brews this afternoon:
Dogfish Head Golden Shower
Unibroue 15
Houblon Chouffe
Moosbacher Dunkel Weiss
Monschof Keller
Southern Tier Hop Sun
Anyone else spicing up Easter with some new beers?

Wow! Nice line up. I've not tried one of those before. Although the Golden Shower is availble around here and on draft in some cases. I'm not sure what I'm supping this afternoon. We usually have an annual camping trip over Easter weekend but not this year. I've been under the weather a bit and my son is out of town as well so it's anti climactic. Just a routine Sunday before beach season. I might break out some Rodenbach Grand Cru. Let us know what you think of all those brews and Happy Easter to those that celebrate.

I'm probably not going to open anything too intense today since I'm on call today and tomorrow. (All my client stores are supposed to be closed today, but there's always some jerk who decides it would be a nice quiet day to work and bother the on call guy).
I will be bottling my pale ale today, though, then it's off to Baltimore and Philly for the rest of the week.

I got a case of Houblon Chouffe at the brewery last month. It's only meant for export to the US so that's the only place to find it here. It aint bad. It's a bit of an over hopped La Chouffe. I thought it was a bit unbalanced, but still have 8 bottles (after tasting a few and gifts to father and brother-in-law) in my celler and really look forward to trying them again next year after they've mellowed out.

My brother in law just brought me back 6 Islay Ales brews from his trip to Scotland. He picked 'em all up at the actual brewery. All bottle conditioned. I might save 'em for a wee bit though.

Watch out for that Golden Shower!! I had been saving my 750mL bottle for when somebody comes over, but I couldn't take the wait any longer. After a hard day of cleaning and yardwork on Saturday I grabbed a 22oz glass and popped the top. Excellent beer, not their best, but darn good. Mouthfeel was a bit thick as others have said, but I'd definately get it again. Finished off my second glass, and then the 9% kicked in. Wow. Needless to say, nothing else got done the rest of the night. There is a subtle alcohol taste, but it'll sneak up on ya!!:D

Nearly went beerless, but had to stop at a convenience store and spied some Cape Ann Brewing Fisherman's IPA. Couldn't resist - nice beer. Sold only in MA, ME and oddly enough...NYC.

One of the founders was part of the road trip featured in the Bockumentary - American Beer.
Cheers!
