Hello, I am going on vacation in May to Harrisburg, PA. Does anyone know any good microbrews or just local beer that I should keep an eye out for?

Appalachian Brewing is a brewpub downtown. Troegs is a fantastic craft brewery in Harrisburg. There are some other grat PA brewpubs and breweries within easy distance of Harrisburg.

While not the best service KClingers (Google it) about 5 miles down 83 is a good beer bar.

Good diners nearby as well.

You also will be able to sample the more "crafty" beer brands from Yuengling (Pottsville) and Lions Head (Wilkes-Barre) in many of the bars.

Depending when you are there, check out a Harrisburg Senators game on City Island. It's a great atmosphere ballpark and they often have a great variety of beers.

The Stegmaier Summer Stock Lager summer seasonal will be out on April 24th. Can't wait to try it. Their last seasonal, the Brewhouse Bock was very nice. For some reason, crafty and Yuengling doesn't seem to fit together.

I've been hearing good things about the Steg beers being brewed by Lion. Glad to see them surviving and doing well.
