Try any of the beers from Unibroue. There is a Canadian brewer who has a feel for beer. You can find out more about them by clicking here (http://www.unibroue.com/).

I couldn't narrow it down, so here are some of my picks:
- Unibroue - Any beer from this Quebec Brewery is some of the best beer in Canada, and the world.
- Borale - Any beer from them as well.
- Cremore Springs Amber Lager.
- Sleeman Cream Ale.
- Church Key Northumberland Ale & Cranberry Wheat Lager.
- Amsterdam Blonde.
- Bowes Lager, and Double Dry.
- Mill St. Stock Ale, and Organic Lager.
- Niagara's Best Blonde.
- Robert Simpson Conferderation Ale.
- Steamwhistle Pilsner.
Man, I could be here all night!

Gotta go with Unibroue. I ve drunk beer in many different countries and this brewery has an amazing product line. There is nothing better I think on a 105F afternoon than to sit in the shade and sip a Fin de Monde or Trois Pistoles. I'm sure there are other good Canadian beers that I don't have access to, but I would avoid Labatt, Moosehead, Molson etc. They aren't bad drinks, they just aren't good beer. They basically taste like every other mass produced lager made around the world.

Canada has some great breweries and brewpubs. Unibroue, MacAuslan, Boreal are all good as are Niagra Falls and Big Rock. The brewpubs are too numerous to mention.

5th for anything Unibroue....My fav is La Fin du Monde!
though I will admit that I had a strange fascination with Molson Canadian for awhile back in the day.

About the only Canadian beer in Carlsbad is Moosehead and Molson. But I'm willing to drive 150 miles to stock up on Unibroue, and I'ld love to try some of the others mentioned here, but they're impossible to find.

I've had Big Rock and like their beers.

I used to think Big Rock was good until I tried other beers. Everything made by Big Rock (Sleemans too) is like a watered down version of the real thing. They all have that macro-blandness. I'm not saying I won't drink one... but it sure isn't my first, second or third choice.
My favourite Canadian brew is Macauslan's St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

I had no idea Big rock was bought out by Sleemans. I drank a lot of it in the 90s. Was good stuff. The woman brewer from Macauslan did a tasting at the Brickskeller. Great Brews. I've been to many breweries and Brewpubs in Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia and some in Vancouvre and Victoria. I think some of them are now long defunct. But Granite in Halifax and Toronto were both good. I think Upper Canada is now closed as are Amsterdam and Rotterdam in Toronto. Steamworks in Vancouvre was decent with fairly good food. I went to several in that city and two in Victoria. I can't recall the names right now though. Brutopia in Montreal was also decent. A big college hang out though so the sights were nice.;)

Big Rock and Sleemans are independent of each other. I just lump them together, as they have similar offerings and are essentially macro-breweries that market themselves as micros.

If you get a chance, check out Tree. It's from B.C.
Way hoppy, very good. http://www.treebeer.com/
Or Grizzly Paw from Alberta if you can find it. There are still very small but also very good. http://www.thegrizzlypaw.com/
I still like Big Rock too. Flavor wise, they fit right between Macro and Micro, making them good stepping stone beers.

Yeah, I came off kinda harsh towards Big Rock/Sleemans, but they both serve the purpose of "gateway beers." Without them, I'd still be drinking Molson crap.

I'm very surprised that there was no mention of the Wellington beers brewed in Guelph, Ontario.
Arkells best Bitter, Wellington Pale Ale, Wellington County Ale and Russian Imperial Stout are a few of their fine brews that I've enjoyed on many occasions.

I'm with you, Rogue.
Wellington's ABB is a very enjoyable beer.
Cameron's Cream Ale and Black Oak Nut Brown are also flavourful treats.
As for the Unibroue, all I can say is "wow". Muadine (sp?) is something else all together.
Trafalgar Brewing also have a great selection if you make it to Oakville and enjoy it on tap

Many years ago Upper Canada made a beer called Rebellion Ale. At the time I thought it was very good. In recent years it is hard to say anything negative about any beers made by Unibroue. My personal favorite is Don de Dieu.

I had the Unibroue 15 on Easter, and it is fabulous.
Roughly 12 - 14 years ago (just as I was getting into craft beer), I used to like Kokanee, from Labatt's. I recall it being drier than the normal swill, and I also liked Molson Brador.
