there are a couple of pics of my beer wall at the link.
Unfortunately all of the six packs on my wall are the just the fronts of the six packs that i have cut off the boxes. I do realize that this has taken away all monetary value of this collection but i started the whole thing just to display all of the beers i have tried. There is around 270 individual brews of beer on this wall, no repeats and NO MILLER LITE!

its good to see that someone else has a beer wall. i currently have 602 beer lables with about 550 hanging on my garage wall. i spent the $ to have them laminated. i call it the worlds most expensive wallpaper at about 6.99 a sq/ft.

I'm with ya, but would still like to see the pics, see if you can submit them to this board.

a pic of the wall of labels would be cool too. how do you remove them from the bottles?

I'd also be interested in seeing your setup, but have no interest in joining myspace just to view them.

here's a pic of mine. i only use 6 packs. throw in a touch of OCD and you have near-perfect rows using a tape measure with a level.

Looks awesome!

I used to have a german teacher in high school... probably the best german teacher around... when kids got to class, there was no english allowed.. only german. After a while we got used to it and we picked up germen quick. We need to ask each other questions, girls needed to gossip, etc. A nice system anyhow. Point of the story, our teacher had her walls covered with posters of scenes from Germany.. you know, those Lufthansa travel posters. It created a nice ambience in the classroom and us kids at the time were really thrilled to go to class and learn.

Last reports from a couple years ago was that parents didnt like her giving low grades to students who didnt do their homework and class assignments so the parents got together and reported her posters to Los Angeles County as a FIRE HAZARD. The school didnt want the publicity and fired the teacher. She had been teaching there for 20 years and was honestly one of the nicest teachers I had.

Very cool walls guys. What is your favorite way of attaching them to the wall?

nice! I knew there was a reason I've been saving 6pack containers for the past year or so.

actually I plan to someday build a bar and though it would be neat to line the top of it with these and cover with glass or lacquer or...

really neat stuff... thanks for sharing!

I'm working on a coaster wall. Same idea with the beers labels but the coasters are all different shapes and sizes. I use clear caulking to "glue" them to the wall, this way I can easily remove them off the wall and remove the caulking off the back of the coaster if I needed to.

Does the oil from the caulking bleed through them at all?

It does not bleed through the coasters. I'm using some clear weather caulking so I don't know if that makes a difference. However if you take a coster off once it's dried, the caulking comes off the wall nicely but sticks to the paper coaster and will take a layer off the back. But I think the solution is a little better than glue becuase caulking is easier to rub off the wall and I think glue might gouge a hole in your coaster if you try and take it off. Otherwise, I don't know, I just used it becuase I had caulking around and no glue.

i use clear push pins which hide well with the laminate. i tried glue on a couple of the first ones but scratched that knowing i would move someday. plus it tore up the wall.

LOL. Yeah, the caulking is rubbery so it comes off the wall really nice. You should get a photo of your wall.

Years ago when I did that with sixpack holders I actully put up a cardboard backing over the existing wall and affixed the holders to that. This was a basement wall in a house I lived in ca 1985-86. When I moved out, I left some nice holders from now defunct micros hanging there. I also left a bottle collection of more than 500 bottles of different brews that I specifically drank myself. There were some I wish I still had. My understanding was that when my room mates finally moved from the house, the collection ended up going to some fraternity. We were not really near any major university so I found that curious.

I hung up some of my more disposable coasters last night using hot glue. While hot glue is adhesive when it is heated up, as it dries it becomes very easy to remove. My theory is that it will hold the coasters up while causing minimal damage to the wall or coaster. I'll report back in a week to let you guys know how it went.

Once I have an actual coaster wall, I will. Right now, I just glued about a dozen coasters to the wall, so I don't see much point. In you want to get a feel for what the area I am using looks like, look here:

http://www.realbeer.com/discussions/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9848&perpage=15&highlight=&pagenumber=1

I've added quite a lot to the area since taking the picture in that thread, but it should give you an idea.

ah, thanks. looks like glue would be your best choice. ever think about using double-sided tape, the kind they use at convention centers to hold down the carpet on the show floor? its a little stronger than duct tape but will probably leave a residue on the coaster if you were to peel it off.

There is some double-sided tape you can buy at a craft store that is not as strong as duct tape and is usually used for attaching things to custom-made cards. It should be gentle enough for the coaster if you ever need to take it off without ripping it.

Pretty cool. Nice keg set up too. I have tons and tons of beer coasters / beer mats. Many old European and antique American as well as plenty of micro coasters. I'm going to start selling them off in lots on Ebay soon I think. I literally have thousands.

If you do, I'm interested in any New England and Middle Atlantic coasters I don't have and will take them off your hands.
