Yes, I have. It's a bit too much like all the rest of the Canadian honey lagers for me to like. Why don't you try Killer Bee, from Tin Whistle, for a very good honey beer (quite sweet, but with a much fuller honey taste).

As far as macros go it isn't too bad. We joke about the rickards products up here, as they are brewed by Molsons. We say that the Rickards products are Canadian with food color (rickards red) or Canadian with honey :)
I would take a Sleemons over a Rickards any day...but it still isn't all that much better.

I'd have to agree fully on all your comments. But when I get stuck at a Boston's Pizza, a pint of Rickards is as good as it gets.
Sleemans is quite often the best choice on tap in most Canadian bars, and what really ticks me off is that you usually pay a premium for the stuff.

I agree and disagree... I do enjoy all of Richards fine beers, including Honey Brown, but by far the best honey brown I have tasted comes from Boreale, just outside of Montreal, Quebec.
They are a microbrew that make 6 different beers, which also includes a red ale, white wheat, dark stout, blonde lager, caramal ale, and of course, honey brown. There beers are fantastic! I ususally pick up 2 - 24's everytime I go to Montreal with my best friend.
Anyone going to the Montreal beer festival this year? Then get to the Boreale tent.
Cheers!

The Boreale beers are very good. I've enjoyed them on trips to Montreal and Quebec.

I've tried it and the verdict is: I can take it or leave it. There are a lot of choices available in Canada. I invite you to try the following and make your comparisons:
Lakeport Honey Lager
Lakes of Muskoka Cottage Brewing Co. - Honey Brown Lager
Niagara Falls Honey Brown
Shaftebury Brewing of B.C. - Easy Honey Pale Ale
Sleeman Honey Brown
and it you are really desperate: Stroh Canada makes Pabst Blue Ribbon Honey.
My favourite is the Muskoka. The HB is an interesting style that goes good with BBQ food, but othewise, I consider them to be training beers.

Agreed, I have had a lot of Boreal over the years and it is pretty damn good.
But again, Boreal isn't a macro :)
