Last time I was in my homebrew store I saw a couple of interesting new products... One pound bags of dried malt extract, but not just ordinary boring light, amber and dark dried malt extract, no, this was much more exciting. Crystal dme, and Chocolate dme. When I make extract brews, I would really rather not bother with grains at all, so these things really caught my eye. The store owner indicated that they were really potent though, and said a half cup of the crystal dme was equivalent to a whole pound of 60L crystal grain malt.
I was wondeering if anybody had tried these and could provide guidance on using them in a recipie.
