Next time you pick up some stout( preferably Rouge Chocolate Stout , Young's Double Chocolate Stout, or Brooklyn), swing by the candy aisle and pick up a bag of Whoppers to go along with it. After all, Whoppers are made from barley malt and you'll be surprised how well they pair with a nice stout. Now that I'm thinking of it, a milkshake with Chocolate Stout ice cream and crushed up Whoppers sounds good as well.

That's what I was thinking of when suggesting this. Since I'm from PA, I'll go with a Victory Storm King and a bar of Hershey's Special Dark( or whatever they're calling it these days)

I used to eat Oreos and Guinness Extra all the time. Some of my friends would flinch, then I'd ask what they might order in a good wine with a flourless chocolate cake for dessert... made 'em think twice.

There were words in my mouth - and someone took them.

Tonight, to celebrate a few days off, I'm having a bomber of Rogue Chocolate Stout along with 4 squares of Hershey's Special Dark from the king size bar. What a heavenly combo. I can't believe how well the two pair together. Somtimes it's the little things...:)

Whopper Stout
by Kuyler Doyle
(5 gallons/19 L, all-grain)
O.G. 1.063 (without added malted milk)
F.G. 1.022
IBU = 55 SRM = 62 ABV = 5.3%
Foam Ranger Kuyler Doyle was successful again with his ãWhopper Stout.ä Inspired by that yearâs ãFred Tastingä pairing of stouts and chocolate, Kuyler ãFigured that malted milk and chocolate from Whoppers in a beer would be a good thing.ä However, he was confronted with the issue of the cheap, oily chocolate used in the actual candy. ãI substituted Carnationâs malted milk for the Whopper flavor,ä states Kuyler. ãI used a blend of regular and chocolate flavor malted milk.ä
According to Kuyler, much of the malted milk settles on the bottom, but the flavor comes out in the finished product. Doyle credits part of
the win to his pairing the beer with Whoppers during judging. (Entrants were encouraged to include samples with the entry.) The malted milk additions are an estimate, since the beer submitted was a ãspin-offä of a larger batch.

This sounds delicious.
One question, you list both hops additions as first wort hops, do you mean to add all this as bittering hops with no flavor or armoa hops?
