Battle of the Beers 2004

Dogfish Head 90 Minute wins again

- View the brackets

The calendar says its April. The annual April Fool's Day release from Stone Brewing says its April.

So it's time to bid farewell to Märzen Madness, the third Battle of the Beers.

Battle hardened by early round battles with its Eastern rivals, Dogfish Head Imperial 90 Minute IPA was dominant in the Battle of the Beers Final Four. The Delaware brewery had little trouble defending its title against Three Floyds Dreadnaught IPA or even veteran Rogue Brutal Bitter.

When 90 Minute won in 2003 it was available only in 750ml bottles. Now it's in 12-ounce bottles and has a stronger brother - 120 Minute IPA. Other members of the 2004 field didn't even exist yet. We won't even try to predict what might happen in 2005, but we'll be doing research just to make sure we are ready.

Remember to do the same — support the beers you voted for in the competition by having a pint in your favorite pub or taking home a six-pack.
